This will be a car share meeting.

Directions – Take the M5 North to Junction 5 . Follow the signs to Webbs of Wychbold (a large garden centre) on the A38 north. After passing the garden centre on a roundabout continue round take the second turning and enter the sailing club car park where we will meet at 10 am.

After meeting our leader and getting permits (if you are a member of the wildlife trusts please bring card) our leader will take us to the hides overlooking the reserve’s saline lake. Good flat walking on well laid paths but maybe a few muddy patches if wet.

The special habitat of the ‘Christopher Cadbury Wetland Reserve’ at Upton Warren makes it the counties premier birdwatching habitat with a total of 230 species recorded here. The southern flash pools are one of only two inland salt marshes in Britain, a condition caused by brine seepage from the saline sandstone sediments below. Hides over lakes and pools give birdwatchers the opportunity to enjoy good numbers of waders and other birds.
