Wiltshire Downs

April 14 @ 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

Free

Leader: Malcolm Royal

This is one of my all time favourite trips. – trip to some hidden and less well known areas of Salisbury Plain and surrounding areas.  Details of exact time and meeting place may change as we get closer to the event but for now lets go with what we did last  time  – Meeting at Winterbourne Downs RSPB Nature Reserve,  at 9.00am. We hope to see the Stone Curlews  (they are already there and in good numbers ) which we saw mating there last time, plus other birds before moving on to other sites including Great Bustard and an area for raptors. We had a very successful trip there on a previous occasion – and our guide Malcolm is an excellent and truly knowledgeable guide.

There are no facilities on the site.

PS did you know the old country name for Stone Curlew is Goggle-Eyed Plover
